Gwen Tucker Political Beliefs

My Political Beliefs

The data from my political typology quiz shows that I am very far left. I think that this well represents my political views because I support policies that promote social and economic equality. I believe that wealthier American citizens should have to pay higher taxes. I believe that programs like health care and legal services are a human right and it is harmful when they are given as a privilege to only those who can afford it. Without these programs, we have continued to aid and abet a country that allows only a few to prosper while creating deeper socioeconomic divides. I believe in a government that is upheld to support every American, regardless of their background. Within these rights, the right to vote, to marry legally, and to an economical education are among the most important. The right to vote is a fundamental principle of American democracy and one that this country was founded upon. Affordable education would bridge the divide between people who can afford higher education and those who are unable. Lastly, the right to marry legally should be guaranteed to every citizen because it upholds a belief in equality.
