Political Belief- Rose McCrudden-Welch

Rose McCrudden-Welch

I firmly believe that the government should serve the people, I don’t feel as if the government currently buts into people’s personal lives in a way that infringes on the right of the individual. Free speech should be respected, but I think the government should regulate the private sector. I think capitalism is evil and the everyday person is too selfish and greedy. I think Republicanism is bred out of that selfishness and immoral individualism. Resources should be pooled so that everyone can have a humane standard of living. I think social services should be expanded to include as many people as possible who could really reap the benefits of it. I believe in a strong social security system to provide for everyone. I think lots of money should be given to education, infrastructure, and to the people that work for city and state governments and the federal government. I think the government should put restrictions on the way companies do business and I don’t agree with how the banks were ‘bailed out’ in 2008. I am pro-choice and I believe in Affirmative Action. I firmly disagree with how the elites of the United States have incredible power, and I don’t think the democracy in this country functions as it should. The everyday common person doesn’t have enough influence and power in this country. Republicans are too far right to an extent that is almost fascist, and Democrats are too centrist. I think healthcare and education are a right, and everyone should have access to a clean environment and equal opportunity, and a society that is balanced in terms of wealth.
